Councillor Expenses Reimbursement Policy adopted

On 15 July 2020 at the Ordinary Council Meeting, Council adopted the ‘Councillor Expenses Reimbursement Policy’.
This policy provides guidelines for Councillors seeking reimbursement of expenses they have incurred as part of their duties of being an elected member representing Mornington Shire Council, as well as provision of facilities.
It is Council’s responsibility to adopt an expense reimbursement policy under Section 250 of the Local Government Regulation 2012, and applies to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councillors (your elected members).
The policy outlines clearly all acceptable expenses, tools and support which will be reimbursed and provided to elected members, and importantly, how the process. of reimbursement will occur.
